In 2018 we performed Shakespeare’s Sister, a concert of music written by women who had lived in the shadows of their male counterparts. American composer Amy Beach was the first American woman to publish a symphony. She wrote Peace I Leave with You in 1891, exactly 100 years after Mozart was composing his final work, Requiem in D Minor.
