Deputy shot, killed after responding to domestic call in Hinds County
HINDS CO., Miss. (WLBT) - An investigation is underway after a deputy was shot and killed in Hinds County. The incident occurred Sunday evening at a home on Midway Road in Terry. According to the release, the deputy, 37-year-old Martin Shields, Jr., responded to a domestic call for service at the home.

Hinds County Deputy Martin Shields Jr., who was killed in the line of duty, is being remembered as plans are underway for his funeral services. A procession is taking place Monday in which law enforcement officers will escort Shields' body from the Mississippi State Crime Lab in Pearl to Westhaven Funeral Home in Jackson.
