SB Nation on MSNGiants activate Landen Roupp and Keaton Winn, place Matt Chapman on IL and Ryan Walker on leave
Joining Roupp on the shuttle from Sacramento is fellow righty Keaton Winn, who joins the MLB squad for the first time this year. Winn lost three months of the season on the IL, and is finally looking healthy. He’s been working in relief while he gets back up to speed, and will continue that role in San Francisco.
Roupp missed most of 2023 and spent much of 2024 in the bullpen, throwing just 76 2/3 innings, making one wonder how he was going to hold up as a full-time starter for the Giants this season. He was already up to 101 1/3 innings -- just six off his career high from 2022 -- when he went on the IL last month with elbow inflammation.
Landen Roupp is returning to the rotation Friday versus the Tampa Bay Rays, leaving the Giants with an interesting roster decision ahead. The post San Francisco Giants Set For Key Roster Move Amid Injury Returnappeared first on Heavy Sports.
The losing streak has hit six games. The Giants are not only 59-63, but they’ve lost 14 of their last 15 games at home — something that hasn’t been done since 1901. The third NL wild card spot remains open as the New York Mets continue to free-fall, but San Francisco remains five games back as the losses pile up.
The San Francisco Giants are gaining back Landen Roupp from the injured list on Friday, and recent moves leave the roster in a bind.
