The U.S. agreed to a request by Kilmar Abrego Garcia's attorneys that his release order be delayed through July 16.

Attorneys for Kilmar Abrego Garcia asked a federal judge in Tennessee on Friday to delay his release from jail because of “contradictory statements” by President Trump's administration over whether he'll be deported upon release.

Federal prosecutors have told a judge in Maryland the government plans to initiate deportation proceedings against Kilmar Abrego Garcia and to deport him to a country that is not his native El Salvador upon his release from a Tennessee jail.
