Amid the Blue Jays' win over the Rangers on Friday night, catcher Alejandro Kirk stole a base, and Chris Bassitt had to make a joke.
Guerrero and Alejandro Kirk, who hit a solo home run of his own in the bottom of the second inning, have both had plenty of success against Eovaldi in their careers. Guerrero entered the game 10-for-24 (.417) against him, while Kirk had gone 6-for-11 (.545).
It was the first swiped bag in a six-year, 532-game career for a catcher with one of the lowest average sprint speeds in baseball.
