With his sixth album, “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” the Weekend is retiring his moniker and going out on his own terms.

The Weeknd has landed his fourth No. 1 album in the U.K. with Hurry Up Tomorrow (Feb. 7). The Canadian megastar (real name Abel Tesfaye) has previously topped the Official Albums Chart with Beauty Behind the Madness (2015),

Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd, is making his big-screen debut in a leading role in "Hurry Up Tomorrow." This feature-length film, which shares its name with his sixth studio album, will hit theaters on May 16.

Trey Edward Shults directed Abel Tesfaye's first feature inspired by the pop star's upcoming album and concert tour of the same name and set for a May 16 theatrical release by Lionsgate.

Described in Tuesday's teaser as a "surreal cinematic odyssey," the plot of the film is still shrouded in mystery. Per its official logline: "A musician plagued by insomnia is pulled into an odyssey with a stranger who begins to unravel the very core of his existence.

The Weeknd has crafted a musical experience that makes you want to hit the dance floor while simultaneously striking an emotional core that most artists struggle to reach.
