Microsoft’s ambitions over the past few years to build an AI assistant that can compete with the likes of ChatGPT and Claude have been a bit of a roller coaster. Now it’s hoping that all those ups and downs have finally paid off.

Microsoft called Copilot+ PCs "the fastest, most intelligent Windows PCs ever built" and said they were "the most significant change to the Windows platform in decades," when they were launched. These computers were basically new Surface PCs with processors specifically built for AI processes, like pre-built AI PCs.
