The Chicago Bulls pulled the plug on the Zach LaVine trade with a three-team blocker trade before the deadline.

The Zach LaVine era has ended in Chicago. The Bulls are sending the two-time All-Star shooting guard to the Sacramento Kings in a three-team trade also headlined by De’Aaron Fox, a source confirmed to the Tribune. ESPN was the first to report the news Sunday. The team announced the move Monday.

All the rumors turned out to be true as the San Antonio Spurs have acquired star guard De'Aaron Fox from the Sacramento Kings. Fox had been pushing for a deal to get himself to San Antonio and the sides have now agreed to a deal. The Chicago Bulls are also in the deal, having sent two-time All-Star shooting guard Zach LaVine to the Kings.

So, the Bulls trade LaVine for their own 2025 pick in return as well as Zach Collins, tre Jones, and Kevin Huerter. Unfortunately, Bulls fans were not happy with the return for LaVine, who was averaging 24 points with 4.8 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game this year.

LaVine had a great eight-year tenure with the Bulls, including two All-Star appearances, but a trade out of Chicago was inevitable. It will be odd for Bulls fans to see DeRozan and LaVine share the court in Sacramento, but they are two stars who served the Bulls well and simply moved on.
