The leaders of Russia and China sought to project a unified front on the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Xi expressed support for dialogue between Russia and the United States and reiterated China's readiness to assist in finding peaceful resolutions to the war in Ukraine. Xi Jinping described China and Russia as "good neighbors" and "true friends.

Putin and Xi held three bilateral meetings as the armies of both countries increased their joint military exercises. On the third anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, while in Kyiv several European leaders gathered for a summit convened by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky,
