Previous reports suggested the Slayer's name would be Nova and she would have a pair of friends - Hugo and Gracie. Hugo was described as an "out and proud" nerd from a wealthy family, while Gracie was described as an acolyte of Gellar's Buffy. However, Gellar later debunked these reports, calling them "fake."

The “ Buffy the Vampire Slayer ” reboot pilot at Hulu has found its new slayer — Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Armstrong has been cast in a lead role in the pilot opposite returning star Sarah Michelle Gellar. The pilot was originally announced at Hulu back in February.

The ‘Skeleton Crew’ actor is the chosen one to stand alongside Gellar’s vampire slayer in a new iteration of the cult series about battling demons.
