President Donald Trump downplayed a stock market selloff that began immediately after he announced 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada. During an interview that aired Sunday on Fox News, host Maria Bartiromo asked Trump about his admission that there would be economic "disruption" because of his presidency.

“Donald Trump is a winner. He’s going to win for the American people. That’s just the way it’s going to be. There’s going to be no recession in America,” Lutnick told host Kristen Welker. He conceded that “some products that are made foreign might be more expensive” but argued that “American products will get cheaper, and that’s the point.”
