(Higher tier) Strong acids completely ionise in water. They break up completely to produce a high concentration of hydrogen ions in the solution.

You should always take care in the laboratory, but strong acids and alkalis are particularly dangerous. Take care with chemicals carrying CLP/GHS international chemical hazard labelling.
