Leaving hospital with wounds still fresh, the sole survivor of last week’s Air India plane crash solemnly carried the coffin of his brother, performing the last rites for a life lost in the deadly disaster.

Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, 40, helped carry his brother Ajay’s coffin during the funeral in the Indian town of Diu, according to The Guardian, BBC News and Sky News. The British national was released from the hospital on Tuesday after spending five days there following the crash in Ahmedabad, the outlets reported.
