The Rays continued their month-long rampage through opposing pitching staffs, scoring a second straight victory, this time 8-3 over a Tigers team that came to Tampa with the best record in the majors. Tampa Bay moved to a season-high nine games over .500 at 43-34, having won a majors-best 22 of 30 games since May 20.

Junior Caminero, Danny Jansen and Christopher Morel each hit a solo homer, helping Ryan Pepiot and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Detroit Tigers 8-3.

The Tigers (48-30) have now lost eight consecutive games played on Saturdays. They’ll try to avoid a sweep in Sunday’s series finale, which would mark their first since the season-opening series against the Dodgers in Los Angeles (March 27–29).
