The intense Santa Ana winds and a trio of large wildfires caused power outages for more than 200,000 homes and businesses in Los Angeles County Tuesday night. Ahead of the strong storm, officials predicted this weather will "likely be the most destructive windstorm seen since 2011.

Almost 62,000 customers in West Virginia and Virginia are without power due to power outages caused by heavy snow and ice. According to Appalachian Power’s Storm Response Update press release, around 61,

Some customers are still in the dark following a winter storm that hit Central Virginia. As of 7 a.m., on Wednesday Appalachian Power is reporting over 13,000 customers in Virginia still without power.

Winter Storm Blair knocked out utilities for hundreds of thousands of customers across the U.S., leaving many American households in the dark Monday. More than 300,000 electric customers were without power as of late Monday morning, led by the state of Virginia where nearly 110,000 customers are without power, according to PowerOutage.us.

Over 27,000 AEP customers in West Virginia were still without power as of 2 p.m. Tuesday according to a news release.
