There is considerable hype around new Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft is the favorite to win Offensive Rookie of the Year after a dominant season at Boise State, but his NFL career began with more of a whimper than a bang.

Ashton Jeanty didn’t have the NFL debut he was hoping for. The rookie running back, whom the Raiders selected sixth overall out of Boise State, rushed three times for minus-one yards in Thursday’s preseason opener against the Seahawks, causing fans to share early concerns about his outlook.

The Seattle Seahawks have already declared victory in the race to determine the best running back from Boise State.
