Leaf colors across Central Missouri are largely muted, with many trees displaying rusty browns and olive greens. Most bottomland trees, such as hackberries and cottonwoods, are largely bare.

Those in Missouri and 19 other states may be in for an even more vibrant display of fall foliage, according to a new report. Two of the nation’s fall color hotspots, though, may not be as lucky.
