Saturday marks the 308th anniversary of the sinking of the pirate ship, Whydah, after one of the worst storms in history hit the boat off the coast of Cape Cod.

OCEAN CITY — The new pirate ship on the roof of the arcade at Playland’s Castaway Cove on the Boardwalk is not an exact replica of the one lost to a fire four years ago, but it’s pretty close.
