Staking starting pitcher Aaron Nola to a big lead hasn’t been a problem for the Phillies’ offense in his two starts against the Nationals since coming back from injury. Saturday, Nola was able to hold it as his strong performance and another big showing by the offense helped the Phillies to a 6-4 win to improve to 75-54 on the season.

Nola (2-7) picked up the win in Saturday's 6-4 victory over the Nationals, giving up three runs (two earned) on five hits and a walk over six innings. He struck out six. The veteran right-hander shut down the Washington offense for four frames before beginning to fade,
