If you’re working in the default “Pages” view, where pages are shown with a background-style border, it will change the color of your page. Not the background behind that.

4. Click the drop-down under "Page color," located in the bottom left corner of the pop-up, and select your desired color from the list of presets. Choose a color and click OK.
