FSU, Transfer Portal
Digest more
Florida State football's Mike Norvell, Michael Alford and John Garrett will meet with local media to discuss the program. Follow updates.
What can FSU football's newest coaching hires Kam Martin and Nick Williams bring to the program? We break it down.
Florida State football running back Kam Davis intends to enter the transfer portal, according to ESPN. Davis was a 4-star prospect out of Albany, Georgia, and he saw action in 13 games over two seasons in Tallahassee. He posted 224 yards and a touchdown for the Seminoles.
Florida State football general manager Darrick Yray is set to leave the program and take a similar role with UCLA.
Florida State wide receiver Elijah Moore has announced his intention to enter the transfer portal. Moore is the 13th player from the 2024 recruiting class to leave the program. A total of 21 Seminoles players are expected to enter the transfer portal when it opens in January.
The transfer portal will be open for a two week period only, from January 2-16, 2026. Exceptions exist for coaching changes (a 15-day window that starts five days after the new coach is hired) and CFP playoff participants who play on or after January 12 (five days after final game to enter the portal).
Since the conclusion of the 2025 campaign, three longtime assistants have taken jobs elsewhere while the Seminoles moved on from defensive backs coach Patrick Surtain Sr. FSU has relied on a mix of outside hires and promotions to fill the gaps.
New Florida State Football General Manager John Garrett will be paid an average of $600,000 over the next three years, as part of an agreement he signed to leave Duke late last month. Garrett will oversee the Seminoles’ front office and run the recruiting and scouting operations.
