The codename for the Android 16 Operating System (OS) update has leaked. The name suggests Google may have begun anew with its OS naming schemes. Google has always used codenames for the Android OS.

Android 15’s dessert-themed code name has dropped. The next major OS update after Android 14 is known internally as Vanilla Ice Cream. The code name was found in the AOSP as a series of code changes.
