European nations have rallied behind Ukraine, saying peace in the war-torn nation can’t be resolved without Kyiv, ahead of an upcoming meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russia’s Vladimir Putin in Alaska.

Since President Trump retook office, many Ukrainians have worried a peace accord would be struck without them.

"The presidents will undoubtedly focus on discussing ways to reach a sustainable settlement to the Ukraine crisis," a Kremlin aide said on Saturday.
