Texas Gov. Greg Abbott tells CBS News Texas there have been discussions about trying to add as many as three GOP congressional seats in addition to the five already being sought.

The governor and attorney general have asked the court to find that Democratic lawmakers abandoned their seats when they left Texas to delay a new congressional map.

Gov. Greg Abbott's special session is underway in the Texas Legislature but with only one functioning chamber. The state House has not been able to meet this month while dozens of Democrats try to stall Republicans' efforts to reconfigure the state's congressional districts.
