BOSTON -- Anthony Cirelli scored twice, and the Tampa Bay Lightning won for the first time this season with a 4-3 victory against the Boston Bruins at TD Garden on Monday.
BOSTON — The Lightning aren’t even a full week into the season, but they went into Monday’s road matinee against the Bruins with a sense of urgency.
Boston ultimately fell 4-3 to the Tampa Bay Lightning at TD Garden for its first loss of the season. The Lightning came out strong with two goals in the first period, including one just 1:09 into the game. And while the Bruins scored three times in the third, Tampa Bay seemed to have an answer for each goal.

Florida beat Tampa Bay 7-0 in the preseason finale for both clubs Saturday night, though the score was irrelevant. There were 64 penalties for 312 minutes on the stat sheet, including 13 game misconduct penalties — seven for Tampa Bay, six for Florida. Florida had 17 power-play chances in the game, by the NHL's count.
