A day before the scheduled meeting with Jets owner Woody Johnson, Ryan believes he’s the best candidate for the job and that he will get his old job back.

The New York Jets are on the hunt for a new head coach and could be going back to an old friend to fill the vacancy. Rex Ryan, who coached the Jets from 2009-2014, is slated to interview for his old position this week.

Rex Ryan said on ESPN New York radio Monday that he is convinced he will be hired to return as the team's new head coach.
