A Guilford County school bus was involved in a crash on Wednesday morning. The High Point Police Department has confirmed they have officers at the scene of a crash involving a bus affiliated with Guilford County Schools.

Investigators said the employee was driving a Ford SUV registered to the sheriff's office on Highway 29, when the victim, identified as James Owens, walked in front of the vehicle.

A least four vehicles, including a schools bus, were involved in a crash in Plum Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened on Golden Mile Highway at N Duane Drive. Channel 11 has a crew on the way to this breaking story.

Guilford County Schools is closing its doors to students on Monday, Jan. 6 due to the effects of winter weather in the Triad. The school district announced on Monday morning that it will remain closed for the entire day due to the National Weather Service extending its Winter Weather Advisory
