Pittsburgh Pirates legend Dave Parker has passed away at the age of 74, just a month before he was set to be enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame after being elected by the Classic Era Committee, the Pirates announced Saturday.

Dave Parker, the seven-time All-Star and former National League MVP who was recently elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame, has died at age 74, the Pittsburgh Pirates announced on Saturday .

The Cobra’ was a key part to the A’s 1989 team that beat the SF Giants in the 1989 Bay Bridge World Series after starring with the ‘We Are Family’ Pittsburgh Pirates.
