Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier proposed the creation of a new detention centre called 'Alligator Alcatraz' to detain undocumented migrants near the Everglades

Many are rejecting the idea, citing environmental concerns — including Executive Director of Friends of the Everglades, Eve Samples.

If somebody were to get out, there's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide — only the alligators and pythons are waiting,” Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier said.
