There are two types of rafting offered in the Phoenix & Tucson areas. Summer time is a float trip on the Lower Salt River where most people go tubing. Spring time rafting is world class white water in the Upper Salt River Canyon. Trips range from half and full day Level 3 to multi-day Level 3-4 in the federally protected Salt River Canyon Wilderness. Going with a commercial outfitter such as Salt River Rafting is recommended.
