We went to Parque Enriquillo in Santo Domingo and asked people which bus went to Juan Dolio. A nice local showed us exactly where to stand to catch the bus. We asked the bus …

We went to Parque Enriquillo in Santo Domingo and asked people which bus went to Juan Dolio. A nice local showed us exactly where to stand to catch the bus. We asked the bus driver also (in our limited Spanish) and he confirmed we were on the right bus. It was 80 pesos per person. Then we also knew where to catch the bus in Juan Dolio back to Santo Domingo. Once we got to the beach, we discovered that if you go to a beach bar and buy a cerveza you are more than welcome to sit at one of their umbrella tables on the beach! That was a nice bonus!

Yes public transportation is there on mostly the main access routes. The cost is about 400 peso or about $8 us dollars or less.

I would say that the sand is perfect, not white, not golden, but in between!!

I didn't see of this at all. This is more of a relaxing,lazy days beach. I assume the more touristy and resort areas may have those activities.

i never stayed in that resort. in center of Dolio are good restaurants mostly italian which cost around 12 to 20 buck per person.
