We took the electric railway up Snaefell Hill, and the experience was stunning. The height was amazing, offering a panoramic view from the top that was truly breathtaking.Full review by PeaQubed

well its not on the train but in the summit restaurant. the trains no wider then 3 1/2 bottoms 4 is a squash so no room im aware of for dinning car. cant recommend the dinner experience …

well its not on the train but in the summit restaurant. the trains no wider then 3 1/2 bottoms 4 is a squash so no room im aware of for dinning car. cant recommend the dinner experience enough but you do need to book sometimes as its popular. just ring them and ask. perhaps ur thinking of other train dining experiences on the island. gosh wish we could join you. alan

looking very POSSIBLEY only by stretcher!! having been on Snaefell railway and taken note of all the ready to read internet information on Snaefell path from bungalow up summit restaurant the path is not paved or made-up in anyway! and gets very rough even for experienced hill walker's near summit, pluss the mountain mist comes down and covers everything at drop of hat, (that's why TT in June is always delayed!) it's also very bleak & chilly,(yes down to 4 at night August!!) the mountain railway is Victorian so if you can't get carried up the steps then it's not possible to use,and apparently no disabled loo's at summit either!! possibly due to IOM GOV WEBB SITE doing best to say it's definitely​ no no for wheelchair bound travelers,

before you start please remember the mountain area Mist's over very quickly and is very bleak at top! if you Google your guestion the answer is 2.5 hours & 9.4 km(3.5 miles as crow flies) but the directions use a lot of A18 MAIN RD!! upto the BUNGALOW, a lot of people do the well known last bit(path/trail )from "tram stop"(were rails cross road) on mountain Rd up to café on top of Snaefell Mountain, this is still quite steep & slippy in places but is off main rds

According to the standard terms of carriage section 9, which are available on the Isle of Man Government website, dogs should be allowed (max 2). Guide and assistance dogs are free, other dogs currently 30p and subject to the discretion of the guard.
