Nestled on the jagged coast of the island of St. Thomas, this spacious beach boasts fine white sand and beautiful views of St. John and the offshore cays of the U.S. Virgin Islands. When the sea is calm, you can rent proper gear to go snorkeling among coral reefs and see colorful tropical fish. Otherwise, windsurfing in the waters of Saint John Bay is always a great option. Hit up the beachside restaurants and bars to refuel afterward. You can visit Sapphire Beach on your own, as part of a tour, or on a private boat charter. – Tripadvisor

We were there in February, before the Covid craziness started. It's very easy to get a taxi from the cruise port. Go with a group of family or friends, negotiate a good rate to take you there and bring you back. We did, only paid half the rate to go, promising to pay the total when the taxi driver picked us up. Henry. Great guy originally from Monserrat. Told us all the history and described the places we saw on the ride there and back, with a detour to Bluebeard's castle resort to walk around and take pictures. Ended up costing like $12 per person for the round trip. Worked for us since we were there for only about 2 hours and a bit. Might be tough to negotiate if you plan on spending a full day there. Taxis back are available but you have to get in line with everyone wanting to come back. Still better to try arranging the round trip thing at the beginning. Good luck. If you already went, hope you had fun.
Q:
What is the Cab fare too Sapphire Beach from the cruise port?
A:
15.00 per person. Cash only
Q:
How much are beach chair rentals? Is there snorkel gear for rental?
A:
Thank you so much! We are visiting one day on a cruise in March. Because if that is the case there are other other beaches, we dont have to snorkel at. That’ll be less crowded
